Hiya. Those of you who worked with me in early March in San Francisco may remember that John Oleson approached me after the show to ask if radical faerie playback would perform at the 64th Annual ASGPP (Psychodrama) Conference in San Francisco April 27th through May 1st, 2006. I tried to reach John soon after we met, but didn't hear back from him until now. He is inviting us to give a radical faerie playback performance at the conference on Saturday afternoon April 29th.

The conference is being planned now, and we need to decide. Yes, it's Beltaine eve eve. If enough of us want to do this, we could give Friday April 28th to an intensive practice session (required to perform in the show, I think), do the Saturday show, and then get our butts up to Wolf Creek in time for Beltaine eve festivities. We just need enough people (at least 6) to commit now to doing this, when it's over 4 months away. If enough of you want to, I'll do it with ya.

There will be LOTS of playback at this conference, including a Sunday morning performance by Bay Area Playback (with nothing else scheduled at the same time) and a Thursday evening performance by Living Arts Theatre Ensemble (with nothing else scheduled at the same time). Saturday morning there will be a keynote address given to the entire conference by Jonathan Fox, the founder of playback (and a brilliant mentor for all playbackers) for the entire conference, followed by a workshop with Jonathan (which we presumably could attend) in a time slot with 13 other workshops offered, then lunch, and then we'd give an after-lunch performance. There would be 8 other workshops at the same time, so a good attendance at our show would not be guaranteed. But we'd be noticed big time in the playback and psychodrama worlds for being there, and some people would choose our event over other workshop offerings.

I must say it's a very exciting opportunity - for any of you who are serious about playback, the Saturday morning address and workshop with Jonathan would be enough reason to attend.

Please respond to this tribe, or email me directly at mjonas@madison.main.nc.us with your thoughts.

  • hiya mountaine!!!

i'm not yet sure if i'll be back in the bay area around that time. if so i would love to do this. . . .

also, i can forward this message to the bayarea, santa amd international cruz faerie lists cause it seems that diaTribe.net isn't really being used as much lately as a major communications medium.

    • tragic. i can't commit to such an undertaking. out of state travel is a bit difficult for me at the moment as i am under the thumb of big brother and have to receive permission for limited leave outside oregon's borders....i'll be at beltaine though and am still interested in working some playback magick here in portland (now that i live here and have a place and a job and will be here for a while and stuff). i'm gonna ask around at faerie coffee tomorrow and start writing up a list of interested fae to join this endeavour. i'll be in touch as this progresses. blessings with the national playback beauty....

      blissings,
